Recreation Program

RECREATION NEWS

The winter Recreation Program will start on January 11, 2010. Please see the attached form with all the information regarding classes offered by the Recreation program.  If you have any questions concerning these programs, please call Marty Gibson, Recreation Director, at 330-392-4574 before 9:00 p.m.  If you need to leave a message, please be sure to leave your name, telephone number and an appropriate time for the call to be returned.

We will be starting a new class this January, Chair Yoga, instructed by Jennifer Yocum. Chair yoga, considered a gentler form of yoga, uses a chair for additional support. Most of the exercises are done while sitting on, leaning on or holding onto a chair. This makes it a great way to practice yoga for people of all ages and those with limited mobility. This will make a great replacement for Arthritis Water Aerobics while the pool is closed. Classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. in the High School library.

MARK THE DATE

In conjunction with the Apple Cider festival’s Stuffed Pork Chop Dinner, we will hold our first concert on March 20, 2010 after dinner at the Administration Building.  Dinner will be served from 4:00 P.M. to 6:45 P.M. and then we will have a performance by Maidens IV.

Wholehearted and full of life, Maidens IV delivers high-action Celtic and Roots music, mixed with hints of Pop, world and the flavor of Gypsy Jazz.  Start with four sisters, dancing, playing, singing, and composing their own fiery music, add shimmering costumes and step it up with powerful four-part-harmony, insane instrumentals, daring choreography and you've set the stage for a heart stopping show. Their pure-action pulse-peddling Celtic fusion spans the borders of today and tradition, stringing each percussive and alluring tone of the Bodhrán, guitar, voice, violin, and viola into a Celtic infused Folk Rock Celebration.
